A summer bag with whimsical wit this straw basket tote will surely be worn all summer long
No bag feels more fitting for the summer than a straw bag. This bag style has had a longstanding cool-girl appeal since Jane Birkin iconized this look in the 70’s and now its been having a resurgence in recent years. I have yet to find a pint-sized straw bag to my liking (or find one that isn’t out of stock!) but I was very happy to have found this straw basket tote by Joanie Clothing. The size allows you to carry a lot of things (i.e. summer essentials: sandals, sunscreen, reading material, towels) making it an ideal handbag for trips to the beach or even weekend stops to the market. I especially love the words ‘Petit Pois’ embroidered in the front of the tote (this is what my significant other calls me☺️).
For a tote this charming and whimsical, I paired it with a breezy gingham romper and layered a chambray shirt for an effortless look. I then topped it off with a straw boater hat and a pair of white sneakers for an easygoing city stroll.
